ARC Program

Who This Program Is For

The ARC Program is designed for Muslim chaplains who have completed a recognized chaplaincy training program and are actively serving — or preparing to serve — in a hospital, prison, campus, military, or community institutional context.

We are looking for practitioners who are ready to go deeper: into the fiqh, the liturgy, the Arabic, and the hard pastoral questions the field presents. The application below helps us understand where you are and what you are bringing to this formation.

Islamic Formation
We want to understand your religious formation honestly — not to evaluate you against a standard, but to build a cohort with real knowledge of where everyone is starting.

Islamic Studies Background

Primarily self-taught

Halaqas and community study circles

Seminary or Islamic college (domestic)

Studied overseas (Egypt, Syria, Mauritania, etc.)

Traditional ijaza-based study with a shaykh

Structured online programs (Qalam, SeekersGuidance, etc.)

Arabic Language Comfort

Little to none — I rely on translation

Basic — I can read slowly with vowels

Intermediate — I can read unvoweled text with some difficulty

Functional — I can read and understand Quranic and basic classical texts

Advanced — I studied Arabic formally or studied in an Arabic-medium context

Quran Recitation

I can recite Al-Fatiha and a few short surahs

I know one or more ajza' reasonably well

I recite regularly and have tajwid grounding
